Mark the farmer knew that bees were his calling from the time he was just a young boy. His father was a beekeeper and so was his grandfather, so he fell in love with the insects naturally. Bruce Bee's has been a family-run producer of honey in the small town of Brockville for generations, creating an exclusive client base by word of mouth.

His business is fairly secretive, however he did inform me that he is 100% organic in the production of his honey. Due to "Colony Collapse Disorder", a phenomenon where honey bees leave their beehive and never return, he does his best to promote the lives of healthy honeybees. His pure honey is sweet and velvety on the tongue, boasting quality and obvious care in its production.
I learned a lot while talking to Mark. I was not aware that there is a serious problem with honeybees and that their population is declining so significantly. They are responsible for the pollination of a vast majority of the produce that we use everyday, that we use to feed our meat, and that fuels wildlife. I am more aware now and will be more conscious of who I support when choosing which honey to buy.
